The cordless drill has become the new symbol for the working man. It’s rare to find a handyman, builder or DIY enthusiast who doesn’t own at least one or two cordless power tools these days, and I would go so far as to say that they have really changed the face of the construction industry-cordless tools have freed us from the inconvenience of dangling power cables, and allow you to do so much more work with so much more versatility.
Even 10 years ago, cordless drills were not very reliable. Some people use them, but most people thought that they were just a passing fad, that was sometimes useful at best.
Now, 10 years later, cordless drills are only the tip of the iceberg-you can now get cordless circular saws, reciprocating saws, staple guns, you name it-there is hardly anything that hasn’t lost its court. Recently I had a discussion with a friend and the broader cordless chainsaws-I laughed at him and told there was most things are cordless chainsaw. But sure enough, I’ve done some research and here we go-cordless chainsaws are a reality, and a reader used by gardeners all over the world.
Cordless drills and other tools keep on advancing. There are constantly new innovations made in battery design, and engineering, which make these tools more powerful and more reliable. Because they are generally fairly lightweight, they can be a lot safer and easier to use and their larger mains powered cousins.
This site has been put together to provide a re-sourced anybody who is researching the best cordless drills and saws, and will hopefully help you to make an informed decision before you buy a product.
I will also talk about Power Tools safety, and give you some tips so you can hopefully avoid making some of the mistakes which I’ve made (and learned from the hard way) over the course of my career as a handyman, builder and jack of all trades!
